Can you buy an extra battery for your cell phone in case it dies?

It never occurred to me that you could do this. People do it all of the time for their cameras.

Then it occurred to me that this is such a simple solution, someone must have thought of it by now, so there must be a problem with it. Do the batteries not hold the charge or something? Or is it possible to keep a spare battery for your cell phone? Can you buy an extra battery for your cell phone in case it dies?

yes. go to your carrier and say you would like to purchase another battery they are like 50 dollars a pop. but i have 4 for when im on a long road trip or in a different place of no charging available. its great bc i can use it till it dies and pop in another battery and put the other with the others in my bag! hope i helped.
Most batteries when charged will keep a full or nearly full charge for weeks if not in the device. When traveling i normally take at least one extra battery for my phone.

You can find cheap batteries for most phones on either Amazon or Ebay.
