I am looking to buy a case for my new phone and i came across two different kinds, hard rubberized or plastic and i was wondering which one is better. if you have one or the other tell me what you like about it too. basically i want to know which is more durable and comfortable. thanks! What is better plastic or hard rubberized cell phone cases?
I personally like rubber ones. They are softer so that they are more comfortable in your hand and less likely to slip out of your hand reducing the risk of dropping it which is an obvious plus. Also hard plastic cases often crack if they are dropped and sometimes break. Also when a rubber one is dropped it is softer so the impact of your phone with the ground is going to be softer and better for your phone. For these reasons i prefer rubber cases over hard plastic ones. What is better plastic or hard rubberized cell phone cases?
I have had plastic cases on my LG phone. All of them have broken. Two I accidentally dropped on the floor and of course it cracked. Plastic was broken and un-useable. I would recommend a rubberized case instead. Those will last longer and you'll get your money's worth out of that. Won't have to keep purchasing a new case in case in breaks.
Hard rubberized is better, imho.
The hard plastic ones are better in my option. Because they are clear %26amp; still look nice. They protect it against scratches %26amp; falls, etc
But the rubber ones are just as good, just look different. Cos most of them are frosted.
I don't like the rubber ones, because they collect dirt under the rubber %26amp; look cheap. Also they don't slide into my pocket too easily. But thats just me :)
The hard plastic, being a two piece, is designed to break apart after impact but does sustain the majority of a jolt. The rubberized, coming in either a two piece wrap on plastic or a one piece sleeve, protects against everyday small jolts as well as the larger. A usual benefit of the rubberized is that they are often times thinner and eliminate the 'bulk' of the plastic cases. However, they are most effective from heights no higher greater than 5 feet. After that height, even a plastic case will not protect it form the ensuing bounces, though a rubberized case has a better chance. I've had both. The rubberized did perform better.
Personally, I do not recommend both. Why?
Plastic or hard rubberized cases can create moisture when the phone is in use. It's like suffocating your phone.
I found this site full of branded phone socks which are more useful and the designs vary depending on your mood. You don't even have to spend that much to get a sock for your everyday use.
Plastic is usually better. Rubber can get caught on the fabric in your pocket if you put your phone there. Also, if you have longer hair, depending on the specific type of rubber, your hair can get stuck on it and it pulls and can hurt.
Plastic is more slick, and can be removed from pockets easier and can usually protect from damage better, but the downside is that it is a little easier to drop since it lacks the same friction that pulls on your pocket lining. Also, plastic can break, where rubber is usually fine after being dropped.
